Congenital Aortocaval Fistula from Right Subclavian Artery to Superior Vena Cava in an Adult with Tetralogy of Fallot
Congenital aortocaval fistula in association with complex congenital heart disease has never been described before. We represent an adult with tetralogy of fallot and an undiagnosed subclavian artery to superior vena cava fistula in previous catheterisms. He underwent surgical correction, successfully. After 8 months post operation he was doing well with improved functional capacity and no ...
متن کاملUnruptured congenital aneurysm of the left sinus of Valsalva in an adult with complex left heart malformations.
A 26 year old man who presented with the first signs of right heart failure was found to have a large congenital aneurysm of the aortic sinus of Valsalva and of the left coronary sinus. These were combined with left heart anomalies in the form of a bicuspid aortic valve, a rare variant of a persistent left superior vena cava with blood flow from the left atrium through the brachiocephalic vein ...
متن کاملCoronary sinus aneurysm associated with multiple venous anomalies
BACKGROUND Congenital anomalies of the venous system are rare, involve the inferior vena cava (IVC), a persistent left superior vena cava (PLSVC), and the left hepatic vein (LHV), and can make cardiac diagnostic and therapeutic procedures difficult. CASE PRESENTATION We present a 67-year-old woman without heterotaxy syndrome associated with interruption of the left IVC that continued with the...
متن کاملSuperior vena cava syndrome secondary to chronic dissecting aortic aneurysm after aortic valve replacement.
Ascending aortic aneurysm is a rare cause of superior vena cava syndrome. Herein, we describe a case of superior vena cava syndrome caused by a chronic dissecting aortic aneurysm after aortic valve replacement. A successful replacement of the aortic root and ascending aorta led to an improvement of edema of the face and bilateral upper limbs caused by superior vena cava syndrome.
متن کاملCongenital Giant Right Coronary Artery Aneurysm With Fistula to the Coronary Sinus and Persistent Left Superior Vena Cava in an Old Woman
The combination of coronary arteriovenous fistula to the coronary sinus (CS), dilatation of the entire length of coronary artery, coronary aneurysm and persistent left superior vena cava (PLSVC) is very rare. We present the case of a 63-year-old female admitted for dyspnea on exertion, orthopnea, and facial edema. Echocardiography detected a giant coronary artery with shunt flow, dilated CS and...
متن کاملThe Importance of Venous and Renal Anomalies for Surgical Repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms
The most frequent anomalies than can complicate abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) repair are: Major venous anomalies: Renal vein anomalies: Retroaortic left renal vein type I or II. Circumaortic left renal vein. Inferior cava vein anomalies: Left-sided inferior vena cava or cava vein transposition Double inferior vena cava: type I, II or III, right double cava. Marsupial cava or preaortic iliac ...
